Hallucination Leads to Gunfire and Arrest in Upland Neighborhood

In a recent incident in Upland, California, law enforcement officers were dispatched to the 1300 block of W. Sunrise Circle North following multiple 911 calls about gunfire. The situation escalated when an individual reported being the victim of a home invasion robbery, claiming to have fired at several intruders both inside and outside his residence.

Upon arrival, Upland Police Department officers detained the individual who made the call. It was discovered that he had been consuming alcohol and drugs. Further investigation, including the review of nearby surveillance footage, revealed a starkly different reality. The footage did not support the man's claims of a home invasion. Instead, it became evident that he was experiencing hallucinations.

As a result of these findings, the individual was arrested for negligently discharging a firearm. Law enforcement also seized two guns from his possession. The Upland Police Department is continuing its investigation into the incident and encourages anyone with information to come forward.
